I'm a home owner!
Well
hello everyone, as you can see from my post title, I am a home owner! After
jumping through many hoops and saving up my hard earn cash, I was able to buy a
house! Well, it's more like a loft. Everything is upstairs from the kitchen to
the living room and bedrooms. The only thing on the ground floor is the garage
with a washer and dryer and well the entrance along with the staircase.
Being a home owner has been a dream
of mine ever since I can remember. There's nothing like having your own space
where you can play music, cook and do just about anything that your heart
desires. For me buying a home was a risky move because I had just been promoted
and barely had any savings. Like only 5k... but I was able to do it and I am
glad I pushed myself to do so. I had to get a loan for my closing cost which I
could have saved up for if I had waited but then again there's no time like the
present to achieve goals. My loan will get paid off slowly but surely, so
I am not too worried about it.
My loft is a 3-bedroom loft with 2
full baths. A large balcony and a decent size kitchen. It’s my bachelorette
pad, as I call it. Some tips I cloud give you on buying a house is save, save,
save!! There's so much expensive that goes into buying a house. I was totally
unaware of this by the way. Whoops, I should have done more research. Like the
closing cost, inspection cost, and insurance cost. One must be prepared.
Another good tip is to get a realtor that you trust and that makes you feel
comfortable. I was honestly so lucky to have found mine and I magically found
her on Zillow! At first, I thought that website was kind of phony but well it
is...but it is a good starting point. So, get the feel of a few realtors and
then go with the one that you feel most comfortable with.
And when you go house hunting just
go with your gut feeling. Others can give you input and advice but only you
know what you truly want and need.
So, there you have it folks, home
buying and my experience with it. I would show you some pictures, but my house
is errr still a work in progress. Give me a minute and let me decorate first,
ha! Little by little my house is coming together :)
